Where is your favorite vacation destination?

We want to go to a beach resort, where we can play golf and scuba dive. I've started researching Bali, Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, St. Martin, etc. Just wondering if any of you have any recommendations.

Costa Rica was pretty amazing and not to expensive once you get there. As for diving the best place I went was Cozumel the visibility was 100+ feet every day.

I have been to St. Martin. Very nice. I have pretty much done most of the Caribean.

Next trip will be to Bermuda. Hawaii after that. Also want to go to the french riviera and few select islands in the South Pacific.

Only been to Jamaica. Not much to do outside of the resort, but you really didn't need to leave. Water was great, not quite as clear as the bahamas, but still nice. When they take you out to the common areas for "shopping", you find that Indians run almost every shop and they all have the same cheap, lame ass nick nacks.

Only thing worth buying is the Rum Cream. Pick me up a bottle while you're there!! :)

Cancun at any of the Palace Resorts are awesome. They have like 5 different resorts all in Cancun and everything is all inclusive. Very very nice. Here's the link to their website. http://www.palaceresorts.com/

yeah that might have something to do with it. What did you do to get in trouble?

I'm also a fan of Cancun. I stayed a couple of times at a friend's time share and was treated like a princess. Getting around Cancun is easy, either take their bus service which is really cheap and entertaining if you have a sense of humor (we had a mariachi band on the bus once and some freaky bug another time) or you can take their cabs which are fast and cheap. We never got stuck in traffic and the excursions were thoroughly enjoyable and reasonably priced. I don't know if they have golf there but if they do, I'd suggest Cancun for you.

The food was fantastic, authentic and reasonably priced. The staff at every place we went to seemd to go out of their way to make us happy. The water on the ocean side can be rough but they use an easy to understand flag system that will warn you so you know what to expect. If it's too rough you can just go to the lagoon side or stay by the pool at your resourt.

Bouncer, when we went on a cruise our friend Joe almost got arrested (twice) after drinking too much. Once was in Cancun...he got locked in a bar and guns were drawn! I forget what port we were at the other time but it was pretty nervewrecking. I would advise anyone travelling out of the country to be on their best behaviour...if drinking is a problem for you, then stay in the US or don't drink!

I got drunk in the tiki bar in the pool in Cancun. The only bad thing that happened to me was I passed out once Stromba got me back into the room. LOL

I want to go to Italy for about 3 or 4 weeks, stay in the countryside with locals rather than touristy places. I think once my daughter's in college we'll be able to get away.

Yeh, come down under.....You should get a good exchange rate and the beaches are awesome. Maybe the Gold Coast for the beaches and Sydney for the nightlife. Just coming into the warmer part of summer now!!!

Can't go wrong with Australia--I've been there twice. You need a little extra time cause the flight is so long, but once you're there it's awesome! Like Dr. S said, awesome beaches--I liked Bondi, even though it's a bit touristy. Great food, friendly people and an unbelievable night life.
