I wouldn't say that they are stupid, but very understanding to the needs of a child like that. I on the other hand, would have beat his ass long before it got that bad!

some kids today have no repsect. I still work with kids and some can be a pain in the ass. I dont worry, i just write them up, talk to the parents, and then take it to the administration.

Ive had kids throw fits because they want me to ge tthem something like a snack, when the snacks are like 10 feet away from them. These aint little 4 years old im talking about, there more kids. Ive gotten spit at before and stuff. ThAts another reason why I decided not to pursue a career in coaching, I dont have the patience i though t I once had.

I don't know if I buy that anyway. It just seems too convenient to say that the kid has mental problems and it isn't anyone's fault. If he has mental problems they're caused by his parents' incompetence.

Because their current method of discipline is working so well... :thumbsdow

Physical punishment is different than physical abuse. If it's appropriate and with restraint, a spanking is very effective means of administering discipline.

And as I recall, I didn't say that the parents of retarded children are incompetent, I said that the parents of THIS child were incompetent. If you'll actually watch the video you'll see what I mean. No disrespect intended. It just steams my clams when I see parents set their kids up for failure in life like that. What do you think that kid is going to be like as an adult? He could end up jail for assault, abuse, murder, rape etc. That kind of behavior can't go unchecked.

I'm not arguing. It's possible to disagree without an arguement. No disrespect intended.

Actually, it's the other way around. I know many people who believe the same thing and their kids are freakin out of control. Yes, there are many other options. And yes, if physical punishment isn't restrained it is ineffective. Personally I think that if it's used at all it should be sparingly and reserved only for the worst of offenses. And you can go ahead and discuss Parenting 101 in the "General Chat" section of a fitness board.

How'd I do with my quotes? :nerdnew:

My ex had a younger brother and I would just thump him in different places. Just not listening I would thump him on top of the head, He wouldn't stop trying to grab something I would thump him on the hand, one time he did that sticking out his tounge thing I thumped him on the cheek. It was quite effective. It stung and got the point but it wasn't overly agressive.
