I have good friends who are black and I know others who are the stereotypical ghetto wannabe thugs. The latter could aptly be referred to with that word. I know white people who qualify too(wiggers?) That word has just about lost it's racial definition. I still don't use it because society has deemed it insulting and demeaning. Some people deserve to be insulted and demeaned however. Ol' Kanye is one of them in my oppinion.

My sister lives in Georgia and her husband uses the word all the time. But even he will tell you that he wouldn't dare say it to anyone's face. They may call each other that, but I dare you as a white guy to say it to them. It's retarded. Black people turn it into a racist thing because it's some "cultural" word that only other black people can use. But when a white guy says it it's racist? I hate it when they start in on the whole "when our people were slaves it was a terrible insult, but we're going to use it amongst ourselves as a reminder of who we are" thing. What better way to perpetuate racism than accentuate and emphasize the things that make your "culture" (or lack of it) different than everyone else's. If you want to honor your "people" or your "ancestry" than you should shove a bone through your nose and wear a loin cloth made from banana leaves instead of acting like an idiot and then saying that it's your "culture".
