Instead of having a bunch of engine work done, why dont you just throw an S+S 124" in it and be done with it. I did a shit ton of work to my fatboy and it was more of pain in the ass then its worth. You can get a decent deal on a 124 and it will just bolt in and give you more horse and reliability than you will get with shaving your heads and putting new pistons and all that crap in it. Just my opinion. I wish I would have followed that advice, I have a 131" merch motor that puts out 152 horse at the rear wheel, but that fucker has to be worked on all the time too. Are you going to put a six speed in it?

      Yeah- probably a Baker.

My dad's had his FatBoy done for almost 2 years now and he's not having any problems yet. I think he's putting out something in the 140's for hp which is more than enough for me. However, I have a few more years before I can afford another 8K-9K for all of that...

With the toque you are getting and low RPMs, 140hp means alot. You hit your peak hp and torque very fast on cruisers, so this translates a little differently than most people think. I can only imagine the grin he gets on his face when he rolls the throttle.

Yeah - that kind of hp on a bike makes you want to put on your lifting straps to ensure you don't get ripped off the damn thing...

yeah I hear that, I have a really touchy throttle too, I've almost shot myself off the back of that fucker a couple of times ;) . I was a bar with an ex-girlfriend on the back and she had just smoked some pot and was out of it so when we were leaving I cracked the throttle to wake her up and she ended up just sliding right off the seat, she didnt get hurt or anything, I turned around and she was just sitting in the middle of parking lot laughing hysterically. That was a good time that day :laughnew:
