Bumpy forearm veins

My husband stays pretty lean and vascular year round. This weekend he was flexing his forearm and we noticed that the main veins in his forearms have sporadic little bumps. Have you ever seen this before? Do your arms look like this? What causes it?

i have those also i cant remember what my doctor told me but he said that it wasnt a big deal and not to worry..i have them in the same spot as well on the forearm..
