What a bunch of assholes. I moved and missed a payment and then some lady calls me and tells me I need to make a payment so I pay both payments. The next bill I get they have cancelled my promotional period and charge me 26% interest. So now I'm pissed, I call up and want to just pay off the balance but the fucking dickheads tell me I have to pay the finance charges on top of it. I get some pussy manager on the phone that tells me not to cuss at him so I told him to go fuck himself and he hung up on me. I will never do one of those bullshit no interest things again, if I dont have the cash I shouldnt have it. DAMN, if I could climb through the phone I would have beat the shit out of one of these motherfuckers.

I would imagine if you did something so they don't get their cut anymore, they'll want you back. Kinda like calling a credit card company and asking to pay off your balance and cancel the card, and they respond by raising your limit and dropping your interest rate. Customer service is a tough one...there are a lot of incompetent people out there and it's VERY important job

Now he tells me.....oh well, I paid the stupid card off and I'm not dealing with them ever again. I work in customer service also so believe me I understand the level of incompentency out there. My face is all red because I'm so pissed, everyone I work with thinks its hilariousOriginally posted by THE BOUNCERya, the problem is that you missed a payment. never miss a payment when there is a deferred finance charge involved.

Yea, that's in the fine print and the whole catch. They look at how probably 90% of all people end up missing a payment(or paying it late) for what ever reason. Then they jack up the intrest and rake in the money. Then most people don't have the money to pay the whole thing off and end up only able to afford the minimum payment, which is usually just the intrest for that month.

I refuse to get a credit card now days. Since you can use a debit card the same way, there is no sense in it for me. If something were to came up and I need emergency money, then I just just pay it and take the $18 overdraft fee. No biggie.

there is 1 major reason to have a credit card. it helps you build up credit. even if you have a credit card and only buy gas or whatever with it. otherwise, you will have no credit and will never be able to buy a house or car or whatever in your name.Originally posted by ShibbyI refuse to get a credit card now days. yep thats the way its going to work for me from now on, I am kind of digging myself out of debt and right now and had to learn a few things the hard way. But at least I have a house and nice car, so its not that bad but I just hate how everyone is treated like a piece of shit. I was thinking, what if I didnt have that money to pay off that bill it would be like 400 bucks a month for a year to even pay it off, that is insane. These companys just rob people and put them in such huge holes its completely unreasonable there needs to be some sort of protection against stuff like that. Granted it was my fault for missing the payment but by no means should it cost me over 300 bucks in finance charges.Originally posted by ShibbyI refuse to get a credit card now days. I dont agree bro. It was you that decided to charge whatever you bought. It was you that missed the payment. The credit card company held up there end of the deal and you didnt. Thus you have to pay for it. You knew all the details going into it, they didnt hide anything from you.Originally posted by phatchopperThese companys just rob people and put them in such huge holes its completely unreasonable there needs to be some sort of protection against stuff like that.

Yea, but where I am right now it's more trouble than it's worth. Plus a credit card is like the slowest thing in building up credit. Just to frustrating for me to deal with at this point in my life.Originally posted by THE BOUNCERthere is 1 major reason to have a credit card. it helps you build up credit. even if you have a credit card and only buy gas or whatever with it. otherwise, you will have no credit and will never be able to buy a house or car or whatever in your name.

I agree, they are taking a chance on you and you could charge thousands of dollars that never gets paid. You have your stuff and all they can do(usually) is report you to the credit beauru.

I've had my cards for severl years, a couple months ago, I was late by a day or two because I didnt mail it soon enough. I called and complained and they reversed the charge. This was the first time and it was only like 2 days late but I was tried to be really nice and they didnt really hassle me about reversing the late fee. I dont know where you stand now with them but it might be worth a try in the future.
