Same here, it's also nice not having a check sitting out there.

You got me there. I just find it easier to keep track of things when I write the check out physically and mail it. I'm in law school right now and I barely make it by so it helps me to plan my spending.

It wasnt made clear to me, I got lasik and was told originally by the doctor that I could just finance thrugh their office because a friend referred me, well after the procedure they tell me I owe 1500 bucks and it ended up being kind of a hassle but they said they can see if I can get the GE care credit and i qualified but they just made me fill out the application and I got approved and they sent me on my way. I understand its my fault for missing the payment and all that, but it just still seems unreasonable that after the missing payment was paid and I had the money to pay off the balance that they wouldnt work with me at all or cut me any type of break since I wanted to pay the account in full. Honestly its fucking paid I dont have to deal with it any longer and I learned my lesson

yeah i made the mistake with credit cards in college, and paid for it all in the end. my credit score went up slightly upon paying everything off, but it's still trashed. better to buy furniture or something on credit and pay that off to build credit with small reasonable amounts at a time. credit card companies are almost predatory lenders in my opinion, they're limited to how much interest they can charge you by law, but can circumvent that by adding late charges, reneging on finance terms, etc. ya gotta play exactly by their rules or you pay out the ass!
