2005 Olympia - rant

I just saw a dvd of this last night, that challenger round was bullshit, I mean whats does it actually mean? that the previous Olympias were of a different opinion than the offifcal Olympia judges?

According to them Ronnoe was beaten by Badel, and the look on Ronnie's face after he'd lost the challenge round when questioned by that dick of a host was funny

I would look forward to a version of the event where only the muisic played and you didn't have to listen to shawn ray comentate over every posing rountine, but on the other hand, the posing was absolutely shit anyway, I can'y understand how these guys can train all year so hard and then pose so crap

What ever happened to routines like, Shawn Ray (Genesis), Vince Taylor (terminater, KLF, Knock you out), and Lee Labrada?

I hope Jay Cutler wins the 2006 olympia if he's competing

I think the worst part of it was Jay's bitching and moaning to every listening ear and reading eye about how he should have won the Olympia. Hey! you didn't win! you have a LEGEND in the sport ahead of you, give it up. Just train and come back next year.

As for the challenge round, I think it can be done away with, but I think the reason Badell won is that the judges who favoured him over Ronnie were the smaller Olympia winners, and the ones who favoured Ronnie were the mass monsters, and it came down to a preference of physique -- I read this in MM, I think

but yeah, the commentary was awful

does the official DVD have all Shawn Ray's comentary all over it, I think his commentary was good from the sky recording I think I watched but I'd rather bump the music up and watch it in its original form, I can't really get into it with someone talking over all the way

I saw it on PPV, and it sure had too much commentary, especially during routines we're supposed to be listening to, like Jay's stupid phone call, and Gustavo's wonderful Mr Olympias routine

lol, i payed the 30 bucks or whatever it was to watch that piece of garbage on TV. i will never again pay to watch any BB event.

if you look back, i was ranting and raving about this the night it aired.
