I was at the Pittsburgh Pro Figure and NPC BB, Fitness and Figure this past weekend...and so were about 8 awesome guest posers, including Ronnie. During the evening show, when he was sitting at the BSN table, I saw a little kid, about 8, go up to him and ask him to sign his hat. Ronnie looked at the hat and said, "I can't sign that hat, I work for a different company." The kid looked at the hat -- it was a Met-RX hat -- and then walked away.

I saw him ask for -- and receive -- Dexter Jackson's autograph on it later.

do you guys think Ronnie was out of line? Should he have given the kid a free signed poster instead? Personally -- and I KNOW I'm not an 8-time Mr. O -- I'd be very upset with myself if I ever found myself doing that to a fan. I guess I can see where Ronnie is coming from, but a little voice in my head keeps telling me, "oh yeah, Chris Cook wouldn't have said that"

I'm guessing/hoping that's the case, but as GY said, he coukd have offered up a signature on something else. I've seen Ronnie, always thought he was very personable with his fans.

yeah its probably part of his contract... but he could have signed the napkin off his table and given the kid something to walk away with... that is pretty lame.

If it was someone older who would understand the explanation I can see him saying, I'm sorry I cant do it because of the contract but the kid doestn know that. I think athletes and especially people paid to promote things should be taught a little about how to deal with situations and people better. I don't know if its Ronnies fault. He just may not realize what he did. I'm sure buys like that spend most of their life in a certain mentaql zone and maybe need a little guidance when it comes to fans and things.

That's a great point, and I totally agree with you. Athletes are blown up, sometimes literally overnight, and we expect them to act a certain way.

These pros better realize although they may be the best in their sport and think their top shit, they don't have a very big fan base and they need to not fuck up the little fan base that they do have....


He may be a great bodybuilder but I personally think he's a moron. Have you ever heard this guy talk? He sounds like a complete hillbilly moron when he speaks. He should just pose and never speak.

I agree man, that is F'ed up, but I am sure it is in his contract. I remember my friend Mr. Intensity (marketing), his name is the A-TRAIN, before is spin out of control say he couldn't sign stuff that was a competing brand with MuscleTech. They were paying him $55,000 per year and he wasn't going to give that up for a signature. he always gave people other stuff of his instead, so he didn't look like an a-hole.

Ronnie has always been nice to me and others around, it has to be a contract deal.
