  • going to buy a new computer (desktop)

Alright, im going to go buy a new computer (about time). Anyway, what computer brands are "rated" better? Im thinking about getting a sony vaio or maybe a gateway computer, but not sure yet. Any good or bad experiences with these products?

Depends on what your using it for. If you use your computer for music, video, pictures, editing and so on, I would go with a mac. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...78F7&nclm=iMac

If your like me and you just use the computer for the most basic of internet browsing and thats pretty much it then you dont need to spend much money. Dell makes some pretty nice and inexpensive computers.

I've always bought Dell computers. I will be getting a new one before the summer is out, and it will definately be Dell (okay, it might be an Alienware system...but they've been bought out by Dell, so same thing)

Bouncer is correct. If you do a lot of music and pics then get a mac. I just bought my first one (iMac). It has been a dream. Everything is much smoother and faster. I feel like I can get way more accomplished on my mac then when working on a pc. This thing was made to multi-task like a beast, win xp not so much. And if you just must have windows for some app, you can now run xp on mac.

I've always used Dell for laptop and desktop systems. They make a great system and usually you can find some decent discounts at http://www.hotdealsclub.com/.

Thanks guys, was going with dell but errr, my credit with them wasnt to good. I had a friend working at store get me a good deal on a gateway computer (with a 21 inch screen and an all in one printer).

Im very glad with this purchase.

All the support from common companies like dell and gateway suck. Custom puters like these are good. Alienware and Kaos Systems.

If there is any other option i never buy a sony product. they are all over priced piles of shit in my experience. I have 3 dead sony laptops seting at the house all of them were less than a year old when they went out.
