  • Where's your ideal living area (city, suburb, country,etc...)

Personally I would like to live in the country so I can have about 10 acres of property to play with. I'd like a lot of it fenced in so the dogs can run around without me having to worry about them getting out. I'd also like to have a barn with a few horses and my own little fish pond one day. I just like being out in the country away from lots of noise and not having each home so closely packed together.

Some people are different and love living in a high rise apartment in the city but I couldnt' have all the land and area I would want if I lived like that.....Guess that's just me though.

So what type of place would you like to live in and why.....

I'm with ya brother. I like the country. I only have an acre of land right now but it is bordered by farm land. I love the peacefulness of it.

I like to visit the city but that's it.

I'd like to live in the country also, where I could have a nice piece of property, and not homes right on top of each other. But I also don't want to live too far from the city, because I like to be able to shop, go out, etc.....

I like where I'm at but wouldnt mind moving a couple miles out of town to have some more room. I live on almost half an acre on one of those streets where all the houses and lots are different and its right on between the suburbs and the country. It nice to be out in the middle of nowhere sometimes but I would go crazy driving for a half an hour just to get into town or to go to work. Maybe I'm just spoiled.

I'm probably setting myself up for ridicule here but I am being completely honest.

Wish #1 - exactly what LMG said - only about 20 minutes outside of a decent town (150K plus).

The following "ideal living" arrangements would be in addition to #1 (sounds silly but it is on my list of things to accomplish in life).

Wish #2 - A small cabin in the Rocky's (my grandparents own land separate from their "mansion" there so maybe this could actually be a cheap endeavor :D).

Wish #3 - A small shack on the beach (even if it is in some third world country).

          This one is a "maybe"...

          Wish #4 - A decent house/apartment/condo in a major city farther north....

me, wow its a hard one

I do love the city life but at times i need a break from it.

Since our ranch was sold, i was like shit. Use to go there and relax from everything. To relax its a good place.

But honestly i would have to choose city life.

I want to live somewhere around Boulder, CO. Not sure if I want to be in Boulder or outside of it. But it's close enough to Denver but it's more quite than the city. I grew up in the city and have been living in this small town for about 2 years now. There is a small city about 45 mins away for anything I need. If there was a real freeway it would probably only be about 30 mins. So I like the distance.

My mom has 10 acres. I'm not sure all that would fit and keep the spacious feeling. It is an end lot so it's very quite. The puppy she just recently got stays by the house without a leash. I imagine if you were moving pets up there they might run off.

My grandparents live outside of Estes Park, CO. It is about 20 minutes from Lions/Longmont, CO, which is about 20 minutes NW of Boulder. This is a VERY nice place to live...

Are you familiar with the area....

I wouldn't say familiar. I use to live in Albuquerque and went snowboarding around that area a lot. But that was over 10 years ago.

                      Albuquerque, NM?

If so, the Taos area is awesome...

                      Sorry to hijack....

Yea NM. I have been to Taos, it was one of my favorite places. A place that was close that I really liked was Angel Fire.

Maybe I should just win the lottery and build houses everywhere :D....

No problem - I may just build a SM compound for everyone here and we can all sit around drinking "kool-aid" :D...

Honestly though, I have always wanted to keep my "country" home as my main residence and have a cabin one of my grandparents plots in CO and a shack on the beach....

                              Someday ;)......
