Buying a vehical on Ebay

I was looking on Ebay yesterday for motorcycles and was suprised by how cheap you could get them. Has anyone ever bought a car or a bike off of Ebay? If so, how was the experience? I would be afraid of it being a scam, or the owner saying it runs well when in fact it is horrible.

Bro, I tried to by a bike off of ebay and almost got ganked for a shit load of money. It's a long story but this guy had an elaborate set up. I know a few people who have done it successfully but it is a risk unless you use an escrow company and this could still have problems.

that's sort of what I figured. Damn, I guess I'm gonna have to find another way to get a good deal.

if u were gonna go Ebay i would say to find someone local so u can check out the bike/car before u buy it...

I have known a few people that have had good experiences with this but they actually drove to the town where it was being sold (or they met halfway) and actually test drove the car etc.

You may get them cheaper but you will have to arrange transportation. Best bet is to spend some extra dough and have an inspector check it out.
