  • North Korea missile test..

So what does everyone think about this?

One thing that struck me as very odd and intentional is that a few of the missiles were fired at almost the exact time as the Space Shuttle Launch yesterday..

I've spent time in Korea and have executed a lot of 'training' exercises around the DMZ. This was from 97-99 and even though there wasn't a current 'concern' publicly w/them, we always were briefed on the possible threat they posed.

Fast forward to present day...I am deeply concerned about everything N. Korea does. They are deliberately defiant and obviously have some very specific objectives in mind.

So why haven't we sent some seal teams in there to wipe out the threats. We're just dragging ass letting them do what they want to. We need to nip this in the bud now, before other countries see us turning a blind eye and follow suit with N korea.

Well, since there is no oil in N Korea,it'll be a while before US does anything. We attacked Iraq because of suspicion of Saddam might have weapons of mass distraction. Hell we know these fuckers have the fucking weapons and they are testing them. And,lets see what did US do today? they had a meeting about it.
FUCK they better do something. I live in California.

N Korea needs to be put in their place.

So many of these small countries want to flex their muscles to show the rest of the world not to mess w/ them. N Korea is proving absolutely nothing to the rest of the world. No one is fucking w/ them, so why such hostlity?

The funny thing about the whole thing is the missiles they tested all crashed almost immediately after firing.

                N. Korea has the world's largest standing Army and the DMZ is the most heavily gaurded border in the world. Some of their missiles may be crashing but there is surely nothing funny about it. They are on a mission and each failure brings them one step closer to success.

Well said, definitly nothing funny about this. Both Iran and North Korea are FAR FAR more dangerous then Iraq has ever been to us.

                    N. Korea is nothing but a fortress (mostly underground) I think they have something like 11,000 underground bunkers. I worked in quite a few in S. Korea and they are basically towns within underground cities. Their equipment is outdated, hence the severe push for nuclear arms and long range weapons.

The whole situation w/N. Korea makes me very uneasy.

I think that it's going to have to be a 'coalition of the willing' working to punish N. Korea. It's pretty clear the Chinese will use their veto to prevent any super-harsh UN Security Council sanctions that might destabilize the N. Korean government....they don't want refugees flooding over their border should Kim Jong Il's regime weaken.
