  • Cage Fighter Behind Bars in Steroids Case

    http://www.latimes.com/news/printedi...-pe-california

Professional cage fighter Buckley Acosta, 27, of Newberry Springs was charged Thursday with felony possession for sale of a controlled substance after receiving syringes filled with performance-enhancing steroids in the mail.

U.S. Customs officials flagged an undocumented package bound for Barstow from Central America earlier this week, said Sgt. Mark Franey of the Barstow Police Department. A postal inspector then delivered the package to a motorcycle repair shop where Acosta worked. Police arrested him Tuesday.

Acosta was being held on $15,000 bail. He faces a maximum four years in state prison, said Julie Peterson, a San Bernardino County deputy district attorney.

Get this, the guy only had 12 amps in the pack and they are charging him with "felony possession for sale" LOL. What do they consider personal use? 1 amp?

LOL - that reminds me of the past few days I have had. I have been sitting through numerous speeches and presentations in 3 of my classes and I have seen either 5 or 6 speeches about steroids (either relating to baseball or in general etc) and almost EVERY SINGLE FACT they produced was pretty much backasswards. It made me want to tell the professors to actually look the shit up and then the students would fail for presenting false information but I let my blood cool down and went about my business - in these particular classroom settings it wouldn't have been worth my time/trouble...

I know what you mean, I used to get into it on a daily basis at school, not about steroids but I know the feeling. The problem is, the people that did those presentations beleive that its the truth and they can show you "reputable" places where they got their information.

that's why I try to pick my battles...I almost got into a huge one with someone about Lance Armstrong and drug use (I'll get into it with you here, if you'd like...actually, I'll start a thread for that)

the other thing is, steroids isn't something you want to come off as being too much of an expert on, or if you are, you need to be careful in saying why you know so much
