  • Best Places to eat in New York

    I'm taking my lady there for Christmas this year and would like to know;

    The best romantic places (I'll at least take her for one)

    The best burgar, pizza, pancake or other speciality eateries, steak houses etc.

    Cmon guys help me out, and don't direct me down Queens or somewhere rough either :bbq:

    By far, the best pizza in america is Lombardi's Pizza. It is the oldest pizzeria in america.

    32 Spring St.

    between Mulberry and Mott Sts.

    As for Romantic.

    I would def give Aureole a try. Its in a brownstone in Manhattan. Very nice.

    34 East 61st Street New York, NY

          Nobu is amazing but expensive. be prepared to spend some money.

              Thanks very much for your advice; B, SS, NJ, FC and NYC

              I sort of thought that we'd make one night of a romantic dinner and for that I'll push the boat out, I'm prepared to spend like $350 should be plenty, including wine although I know thats gonna preclude me from going to the top places.

              The rest of the time, lunches and evening meals I want to try all the speciality foods that New York in known for since I'm going there. I heard about;

              1) Pizza,
              2) quality burgers (like proper lean mince beef stuff),
              3) pancakes
              and anything else you guys recomend, I'm sure I'll grap a donught here and there.

              Barca 18 sounds good too, the thing is I know NY is as cosmopolitan as any world city but lets face it certain national foods have a bigger influence and are assimulated more than others. So that said, I think I'll try B's Pizza sugestion and romantic one, SS's Barca 18 for an alternative.

              So what about Burgar bars (NOT MACDONALDS or BK's)?

              and Pancake bars?

                NY isnt really a Burger or Pancake kinda place bro. Sure there is probably a few good places to grab a burger or pancakes but NY isnt known for those types of foods.

                Def have a cheese steak also while your here.

                      I think your thinking about a piece os steak with cheese. lol. Its weird how I assume that everyone knows what a cheesesteak is.

                      Its pieces of steak cut very thin on a roll. Usually cheese, fried onions, and sweet peppers. Thats the philly/NY way. Copycats around the US have added there own twist and put lettuce and Mayo and all that crap on it but a real cheesesteak only has the basics like I mentioned.
