I agree. I have always been someone who has a hard time dealing with stress and so on. I also obsess about EVERYTHING. That can be a good thing but it can also be a very bad thing. Just the other day someone pulled in front of me while driving and I COULD NOT LET IT GO. Sana had to pretty much scream into my ear about 10 times before I snapped out of it. Im not even going to get into how I almost killed my neighbor the other day because of his little barking dog..

At any given day, im either angry, sad, worried, or stressed. I cant ever remember a time besides when I was a kid that I actually have just had fun and enjoyed life. Now this new thing as of the last few months is the hypocondria.

Anyone have any idea on how the hell I can snap out of this shit? I have been on depression meds and they seemed to work for about 3 months and then I fell back into the same rut. I have been on some kind of med called Klopin or something like that, I shit you not, the insert with the med said, "in clincal test, this medicine had a calming effect on hyper-agressive gorillas and baboons"! LOL the med did nothing for me except give me headaches.

suggestions are welcome because i am lost..

P.S. The doc says I have unusually high norephenephrine and adrenaline levels. She says thats why I am always in "fight or flight" mode. Not sure if that helps anyone make a better suggestion or not but I thought I would tell you.

Depression very often have to be changed. They may work dor a bit, then just quit. You might need a higher dose, a different med, or sometimes even a combination of two. Sounds like you need spmething like Wellbutrin, etc - seratonin boosters. Klonopin is used for anxiety sometimes, but also for seizures, etc.... I think you should talk to your Dr about getting on something else. It can really help give you a more "calm sense"

It's made by Dr. Shcolls(sp). You can probably look up the info on it. I just got some for my wife to try on a skin tag. I will let you know how it does.

I hate the thought of being on those meds though. I feel like its not me when im on them. Almost like I am being held down.

Ok Bouncer, we just gave it a try. It has these applicator tips where a compress chemical freezes (just like the doctor uses) and then you press against the skin. There is a chart for how many seconds you hold it against the mole for the size. You can actually hear the skin sizzle like if you were burning it. My wife did feel a little pain as it froze it. But as it thawed out it started to go away. Just like the instruction say. It can take up to 10 days to fall off. It's dead skin once you freeze it, but your body still has to grow new skin underneath and shed off the bad stuff.

SAME PROBLEM - wiht both problems. I have moles and to me, I was absolutely convinved that they were cancerous - I was positive. I went to my primary doc and he said, no worries. I was insistent, so he got me to a derm and the derm says, no worries. So what did I do? Went to a third doc, who said????? NO WORRIES! Well, I finally had to face the fact that this was a manifestation of my depression. I have been treated for it for years and what is really funny is that people tell me that I am the most cheerful, optimistic person that they know. But the reality is - depression can emerge in many strange and unusual ways.

I was a rational person, doing the right, proactive thing by getting the mole checked. No problem there, but the obsessing over it and letting it consume me was really my depression rearing its' head.

I have had some personal success with Welbrutin and I hate to say it, but there will ALWAYS be something for ME to focus on and it is always bad........I find ways to fight it and I have some good days and some bad. Some days, I just feel apprehensive and nervous, some days, defensive and self righteous - And there are many days that I feel lucky to be alive, walking on this earth and all is right with the world. These are the days I try to hold on to.

I basically try to accomplish something each day and focus on just that. I try to remember that this is an illness, like any other, and it needs to be monitored. I think that we just manage it. I would encourage you to consider therapy. It can be as benefical to you as a physical work out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I am dizzy on my soapbox, so I am getting down.

Alright, I'm really NOT trying to worry you, Bouncer. I've debated about even posting on this thread because of your concerns lately. This is only a suggestion/question to be taken with a grain of salt. Has your doc gone as far as to look into WHY your adrenaline levels are constantly elevated? There could be an underlying medical condition that causes that, such as a small tumor on one of the adrenal glands (stimulating higher adrenal production levels) which could be spotted by an MRI exam. I have seen some studies in the past relating to highly aggressive individuals who had this type of anomaly. It's not Cushing's Disease (which mostly affects cortisol production) as opposed to say, the fight or flight mode but I can't remember what exactly it's called. It is somewhat rare though but it does occur. It also has some bearing upon one's mental state of mind. See what she thinks next time you speak with her.

I recently had an MRI of my whole spine and its surroundings. Also not long ago I had a CT scan of the kidneys, liver, spleen, Intestines and so on. They shot some kind of contrast liquid into my vein also. Had blood work done also. Everything came back normal.

The doc thinks the depression med I was on (Cymbalta) could have something to do with the high levels.

^ Well, it's good to hear that you had a complete workup recently. Hopefully things will level out for you soon.
