  • Whats the most anyone has lost gambling?

So I was at the casino last night and I watched this guy get destroyed playing craps last night. This guy was so drunk he could barely roll the dice, and of course the casino let him keep playing. He was playing with mostly 25$ chips, and he went on about a 10 minute stretch of playing the field and must have lost about 10,000$. Each time he was betting a couple hundred and kept losing, so he would up the bet each time, finally he must have put down 5 grand on one hand and lost. I thought he was going to kill the guy rolling. The roller kept hitting 6 and 8 just about every time. So that begs the question, whats the highest amount of money anyone here has dropped at a casino. For me it was about 500$. What about you guys?

Probably down 60-80 at the most over a weekend. I really only like playing blackjack or poker though. I saw a guy in Reno in his early 20's like me that withdrew over $6,000 over a couple hours while we played blackjack. He just thought he could win it back. I was still on my original $40 playing $5 hands. I felt really bad for the guy, his friends couldnt get him to stop. If it was my friend I would have dragged his ass out of there by his feet if I had to.

I know a guy that owns a race team on the southwest series (lower division of nascar) and he thinks nothing of $1,000 to $5,000 hands.

When I was in Vegas I watched a dude lose 20,000 on craps in like 30 minutes. I was like holy shit.

Personally I think gambling is weak. I spent $40 while I was in vegas

I was in Vegas for four days, I managed to lose $250, but that was given to me for a bday present to gamble with. That's the most I've ever lost, and I still was choked about that.

A few years ago a friend and I were walking through a vegas casino and stopped to watch this guy playing an entire blackjack table by himself. He was there about 12 or 13 hours at that point and we watched him double down almost every hand. He was playing 4 or 5 hands at a time too, so it must have been something like $5 grand per round minimum. They removed the maximum betting limit especially for him and evrytime a dealer rotated out, he would tip him/her anywhere between $2,000. - $5,000. each time. We eventually spoke with the pit boss who told us that he came in and staked $107,000. initially and we watched him for about 1-1/2 hours (couldn't get too near him for security purposes) and he cashed out something like $200,000.+ Now this guy happened to win but he must have lost at least that much at one point or another. When he left, they needed about 8 security guards just to carry out the boxes of chips to the cashier in addition to at least 6 regular armed security guards. This happened at the Riviera Casino about 6 years ago. There were at least 5 or 6 different casino employees (Casino manager, floor manager, pit boss, you name it LOL) specifically tasked to watch him play, probably as an anti-cheat protection. It was pretty fun to watch him since he had so many boxes of chips surrounding him that he looked like he was playing from a military bunker or a foxhole, LOL.

I used to work in hospitality around gambling. Mostly poker machines. I dunno what you guys call them in the states & other. It's not actual poker, but the machines where all the numbers and pictures have to line up. Slot machines??? Well we had alot of asian people gambling. They would bet very high & would often walk over to other people and actually pay them for the right to guess a double up. So you would end up with 30 people crowded around a machine while he would sit for 5 good minutes deciding wether it was red or black, or spade, hearts, clubs or diamonds. He would give them the total of what was won in that spin to gamble. If he got it wrong, then they didnt lose, he did. If he got it right, then they split how much was won on that gamble. It was insane to see them gambling more than i was making in a 60 hour week.
