  • Steve Irwin

I know its a bodybuilding site & this should probably be posted on a reptile site, but Steve Irwin has done alot here in Australia for the environment & its native animals. He passed away today whilst filming a documentary. He was killed by a Sting Ray & being an Aussie & all, I'd like to say that today our country lost a very special character, who's shoes will never be filled.

According to up to date news, unfortunately his wife does not even know. Terri is tracking through Tasmania and cannot be contacted. Just awful :(

Wow. A stingray got him in the end. I thought that they carried a number of antitoxins with the show when they know he'd be filming and interacting with stuff that uses venom? RIP, Steve!

I don't think there's a chance for antivenom to work when the venom is injected directly into your heart. Not to mention the amount of bleeding a heart puncture by a barbed tip would cause.

Thats such a rare incident, stingrays have only accounted for like 3 deaths in this way, they're such a shy animal. Steve Irwin was an awsome character to watch and clearly saved alot of crocs and other animals as well as raising awareness of their vunerability. RIP brother

I'm speechless. Our world is much smaller without him.

It's hard to imagine someone w/so much character just not being there the next day.

I was disgusted at the "Today" shows attempts to cover this sad situation - all they did was show Matt Lauer's dumb-ass interviewing/ridiculing the man for taking his son in with the crocodiles - just another injustice the media does for great people like Mr. Irwin - RIP...

Amazing isnt it! You do 1000 good deeds for the evolution of the world & some pretty boy who's ass is too scared to have a hair out of place and too lazy to leave a television studio has the power to question the antics & darken the image of a man who really makes a difference.

On another note. Within 12 hours of Steve dying, I recieved a text message with a joke & have seen so far 4 emails with joke type words/footage about Steves death.

I know its inevatable that jokes will pop out of the woodwork, I am curious as to what you guys think of that? Not just about steve, but about jokes in general circulating witihn hours of a tradgedy?

Havn't heard anything yet but I think you can differenciate between a joke for the sake of it and a serious comment about someone's life. Jokes are just that 'jokes' not to be taken seriousely
