While I agree that the guy is a complete idiot, sending him to jail on a felony charge is the wrong answer. The guy made a hotheaded rash decision that he probably regrets as well. I'd rather see some kind of community service based sentence.

A hot headed decision...give me a break. He's a 36 yr old man that totally lost control and crushed a 13yr old kid from behind. He could have broke that kids neck. He was the dam assistant coach and a father. Losing self control like that over a common game incident is completely unacceptable imo.

I think this guy should spend a few months in jail.

What an idiot, get a life buddy. Your boy gets hit a little late and yiu tackle the other kid. Does he also throw his lunch at his kids school bully.

I didn't say it was acceptable. I just said that sending him to jail over it serves no purpose whatsoever.

I think he should spend a minimal amount of time in jail and do community service...something along the lines of helping kids w/special needs not picking up trash along the highway.

I'm in favor of a creative punishment imposed by a judge rather than jail...but none of that bullshit community service stuff. To hell with the bleeding heart liberal trend of handing out taps on the wrist...the punishment should fit the crime.

I say put him out on a football field, strung so he's standing up and his feet are planted, and let an NCAA or NFL D-lineman who's favorite cause is child abuse cases take his best shot at him.
