I hadn't heard about that. If that rule change is true, that's bullshit. Money is ruining everything in our society. Even something like college sports entertainment. It's about entertaining the fans, not making the goddamn television companies more money. Fuck em.
The part I didn't like is how the game clock is even started at the change of possesion. Even the NFL dosn't do that.
Exactly! It changes the entire strategy of the game outside of just shortening the game. Now, if a team gets the ball back with less than 2 minutes, they may have to burn a damn timeout before they've even ran a play to conserve the clock. To me that means that 3 timeouts aren't really 3 timeouts.
If they truly wanted to shorten the game, then they should've just reduced the number of minutes in the game vs. fucking up the whole strategy.
The NCAA sucks!, and the more I think about this the more pissed I become.
On a better note, I'll be in attendance this weekend for the UT vs. OSU game. I've never been to a 1 vs. 2 game, so I'm looking forward to it.

OSU!!!! Yeah baby!!!!!!!!! Ohio State wins!!!! I went to college for a year in a small school in Ohio, that's when I became a Buckeye fan. So, I'm not just a bandwagon dork. Dork yes, bandwagon dork, no. :D
And who celebrates their team's victory by burning their couch in their front yard? WTF is that all about?! Bunch of drunken idiots.

The couch burning was stupid I agree, but every fan base is going to have its share of delusional fans. Leaving the stadium all of the UT fans were very gracious. My girlfriend had on an AJ Hawk jersey and she didn't get one strange look. Now, I got strange looks having on a UNC hat and shirt (man, they suck!)
What was neat was going to the 6th Street bars for lunch and seeing nothing but red. I didn't expect it but it made sense since the locals were all out tailgating.
The other cool thing I got to hear was after the game was over and the fans were leaving the band sang a little chant. It went like this..."We don't give a damn about the whole state of Michigan...the whole state of Michigan...the whole state of Michigan".

Ha Ha...nice. I've had the chance to go to a few University of Maine hockey games and the band shouts in unison, "Who cares!" "Go home!" "So what!" and stuff like that when the opposing team's players are introduced. It's pretty funny.
For those of you who don't know, UMaine Black Bears are one of the best NCAA hockey programs in the country. Paul Kariya and Garth Snow played for UMaine. It's a big deal for a state like Maine.
This video is long, but I'm glad to see some coach take advantage of these crummy rules. Hopefully, the competition committee will rescind them entirely next year. I'm guessing they'll just alter them and still make it crummy.
