I don't understand why so many people use this. First you have to trust that the front desk person set the time right, then who actually wants to be woken up by a phone ringing. There's an alarm clock in all the rooms, I would much rather use that.

I think that would be fun...
"Yes, hello. This is your wake up call. I just wanted to make sure that you did indeed set your alarm to go off by 5am. Yes sir, I understand it is 3am. I just felt inclined to remind you that you needed to wake up by 5am. Would you like me to call you back then as well? :D..."

Well here it's all automated, but it still has to be programed in by the front desk. But there are those people that are ass holes when they check in that I sometimes feel like setting it early or even worse, setting it early when they didn't even ask for it.

I routinely get a wake up call when staying in hotels. It is a backup plan so when my phone alarm gets turned off while I'm half asleep, and if the room clock snooze button somehow gets depressed A LOT, I at least have a 3rd line of defense. BTW, to counteract the inevitable hangup and fall back asleep effect, I unplug the nearby phone and let the desk phone ring so that I have to get out of bed to answer it. Then at least, I am no longer on autopilot because I have actually stood up, lol. I am not a morning person, as one may have guessed. LOL

Dude, I hear you. You have to flip the bed over to get me out of it in the mornings. I hate mornings.Originally posted by Primal InstinctI routinely get a wake up call when staying in hotels. Same goes for me, Control. The only thing that hurts me is that sometimes lack the discipline to actually get out of bed and fall BACK asleep. That's why I need the extravagant Rube Goldberg alarm clock setup, LOL.
