  • Halo 3

Im not really a video game kinda guy but I decided to check out Halo 2 about 2 years ago and have been hooked on the Halo franchise ever since.

Halo 3 is due out early 2007 and I will be the first to admit that I will run out and get it as soon as it is out. :P

Tell me this game doesnt look badass.

Ditto....the number of 'bugs' I encountered in the first Xbox convinced me to skip the 360. Besides, my #1 game priority-wise is EA Sports NHL, and that always seems to be best on PS platform. 07 won't take advantage of PS3, but 08 will surely be mindblowing.

I'm sure the PS3 is gonna have some issues when it hits as well. Another good reason to get the 360 is ghost recon. Love that game.

Well, IMO Halo kicks the shit out of any 50 PS games put together. If my wife would agree to it (ha, yeah right) I'd buy a 360 just so I could play Halo3 when it comes out.

No doubt PS3 will kick some major ass as a gaming system, but I just don't like PS games.

Ya, Im sure PS3 will be a great system. In my eyes though, Halo alone makes the 360 a better option for me. I have never had a better time playing a game then the Halo Series. Agreed with beefcake Ghost Recon is a great game. The new Tom Clancy vegas will be bad ass too.

Just so you know rado, the Xbox 360 problems are all related to the launch models. The models that were made in 2005 had massive problems. You wont have any problems with an Xbox 360 made after March of 2006.

One other advantage of the 360 over all others is the online play. PS3 and Wii will both come out with their own online play but it will never come close to Xbox live.

Cant say anything about Metal Gear Solid, I have never played it. Is it a game like halo or something different?

Ya, Metal Gear Solid was pretty sweet.

Here's an interesting thing that you don't get to hear in mainstream media. I have a friend that works in microprocessor architecture at IBM. IBM designed and makes the chip that drives the PS3. Anyway, all sales of PS3 to China are supposed to be banned. Aside from China always blatantly infringing on international patent rights, these new products are not to be sold or shipped there because the new cutting edge microprocessor (one of the most intelligent and fastest ever) could very well be used for military applications. No shit. Military applications - from a game console microprocessor. It's kind of like a play on "Toy Soldiers", lol.

I played the first Halo and loved it. This was a time in my life when I had a lot of time to waste. But now I already have enough distractions, so as much as I want a game system, I won't get one. :)

One thing to note, the original processor slated for the PS3 has lost some of that power over the past few months.. Every week it seems that sony is announcing a "slight" downgrade. The PS3 processor will be very similar to the 360.

Ya, they are probably intentionally dumbing it down before it ships- just in case one finds its way to China. A good move, IMO. As a military application, it could be used for data computation in weapons systems and as a rendering processor in training program simulators.
