Rado and I disagree on something. He says Chicago is more know for its Hot Dogs. I say Chicago is more known for its Deep Dish Pizza. When you think of Chicago food, which do you think of first?

WTF is a Poll going to do. It's facts. That matters. When I think of Chicago and everyone that I know who lives in Hoffman or anywhere else; it's the dog. Are you also going to tell me that people in Chicago call a Coke "Soda" and not a "pop"? Or Grocery Store as oppose to Food store?

From my understanding of the poll, it's what is chicago known for outside of the area. Kind of like me being from Texas, we are known for BBQ, but I don't know what other's think it's known for. Most people thinks everyone from Texas is a cowboy.

right, just like philly is known around the country for its cheesesteaks. im not asking what is popular when you are from the city in question. take for example, in philly and the suburbs you can buy rolls called amoroso's. They are a company in philly and they are very popular in the area. outside of philly and south jersey, nobody has ever heard of them. kinda like Italian Water ice. i thought everyone knew what italian water ice was..

I can't say that when I read this thread and thought about Chicago that any food instantly came to mind. But after thinking about it, deep dish pizza was about the only thing that did come to mind. Hot dogs would have never entered my mind to be honest.

As soon as I hear 'hot dog' I think of those fat, nasty, gluttons choking down hot dogs at Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest.
