Has anyone heard of this as a movie? It's from the book 300 by Frank Miller. I found this trailer on spikedhumor.com.

That looks fuckin awesome! I remember reading about the Battle of Thermopylae as a kid and pretending to act it out in the back yard. :D The book appears to deviate from historic fact in several places, but reviews say that it's a brilliant dramatization. I look forward to this movie.

I love those movies! Those are among my all-time favorites. I like movies with a historic context. Especially ones about Greek and Roman legend. I also like movies like The 13th Warrior that draw from Norse mythology. That period of history was full of drama and heroism.

Antonio Banderas. Based on Michael Crichton's book Eaters of the Dead. One of the rare instances where the book sucked and the movie kicked ass. Love that movie.

Somehow, I knew that. :D I know what you mean, some of his movies are just lame, but this one isn't your typical Banderas movie. The character's not perfect, but to me, the story's entertaining.

I lost all respect for him, there wasn't much to begin with, after Zorro. I'll watch it though. I wasn't much of a Russel Crowe fan either until Gladiator. I can watch that movie over and over and never get tired of it.

Any other reccomendations...have you seen Kingdom of Heaven? If so, was it any good?

Yeah, I saw it. I thought it was pretty good, but I thought they could have chosen a better actor than Orlando Bloom. The story was cool, but Orlando Bloom/Boring is a waste of time. He made a good elf in LOR, but other than that, he's annoying. I love the Pirates movies, but IMO, Johnny Depp is the reason those movies are successful.
