(12-5) YTD
ATLANTA @ NEW ORLEANS
(ATL Offense/ N.O. Defense)
Let me just start off by saying N.O. rush D hasn't been tested yet and it should not be the reason anyone should bet on N.O....Cleveland rushed for 85 yards 3.8ypc on N.O... Browns other 2 games (20/57/2.8ypc against cincy) and (19/38/2ypc against Balt) G.B. rushed for 63yards 3.1ypc on N.O...G.B.'s other games (26/103/3.9ypc against Chicago) and (27/60/2.2ypc against Detroit) Whats this all mean?? The Saints didn't do anything but prove that Cleveland and G.B. have not had strong running games up to this point..They did not do anything special in those games..This is their first test tonight...Atl has proven it can run on good defenses...Carolina and T.B. still have good defenses a lot better than N.O. U take out ATL from their rush D average and both teams are only giving up 100ypg..If ATL can gain 280 yards a game on the teams they have played so far, you can count on at least that average tonight...If you try and tell me N.O. rush D is better than T.B.'s or Car, you don't watch football..The saints are going to have to put 10 men in the box to slow down ATL's run game which leaves a wide open field for Crumpler and Co. to have man to man coverage..Vick might not be the best passer, but give him enough opportunities and he will make you pay..N.O. does not have the talent on pass defense to play man to man...
(N.O. offense/ATL defense)
N.O. does have a lot of weapons on offense and will surely test ATL's D all game long..While they do have amazing talent with Bush and Deuce, they are only averaging 99ypg and 2.6ypc..To blame of course is the offensive line that is banged up and will be makeshift once again tonight..They let up 4 sacks against G.B. last week with some backups playing so there is room for concern there..Their passing game seems to be starting to gel, so it will be interesting to see how they match up with the Falcons...ATL has not allowed a touchdown yet this year and I know CAR and T.B. are playing terrible offensively, but anytime u shut out an offense from the endzone in the NFL is still saying something..With Abraham seeming to play tonight, I would say ATL is going to have better success stopping N.O. than N.O. stopping ATL..Add in the fact that DeAngelo Hall has the speed to stop anything Bush has to bring tonight..Atl has given up 300 ypg in the air their first 2 games, but only 9 points..Most of those yards came when the game was in hand, and I don't care how many yards they give up, points is all that matters...
Finally all this talk in the media about how important this game means is so blown out of porportion is starting to get annoying..N.E. last night was suppose to play the revenge card on Denver and thats all you heard yesterday..Well look what happened..Emotions can play two ways, it can fire you up or it can make you jittery...While N.O. is much improved from last year, so is ATL especially defensively...N.O. might get a few early shots in, but as the game wears on and the emotions die down, the Falcons will control the tempo by running the ball and keeping N.O. offense on the side lines..CAR and T.B is much better competition than G.B. and Cleveland, and ATL will be able to pound the ball all night and open the passing game up en route to a 27-13 win..Good luck all
