  • Anyone have this.. Snapping hip..

As your walking, if you put your hands on your hip bones as you walk, do either of your hips kinda feel like it is grinding or snapping or something. The only thing I can find on line is something called "snapping hip" which seems to be pretty common and not to serous.

Just wondering if anyone can feel any kind of snapping or anything in either hip when you walk. My left hip does this as I walk.

Mine does that occasionally when stepping up into my truck - actually really hurts too. Does yours hurt?

Snapping hip sounds like a very reasonble discription that matches your symptoms. Like the articles say, just pay attention to a developing pain from a bursitis. Espeacially now that you are off everything.

My shoulders are like that - constant pop or grind...

I just chalked it up to high school sports...

Mine used to do this from time to time but it hasn't done it in a LONG while - thanks to you though it's probably going to start doing it again tomorrow since I will be thinking about it :P...

Wow! you guys are old. J/K.
On a serious note though, all my joints I mean from my shoulders to my ankles they all pop. I mean loud pops, so I went ahead and asked to a doctor and he said as long as poping doesn't cause any pain I am OK. So if there is any pain I would get it checked out.

Yea, my ankles pop insanely loud and all the time because of 16 years of soccer. Unfortuanetly I never got to persue my career as a ninja :).

my hip dosent "pop" though. it cant be heard or felt unless i put my fingers on the hip itself. it feels more like a grinding of cartlidge or something..

Which can be a worse scenario. Poping is gas build up from the synovial fluid in joints, which releases rapidly. Your case is an actual grining of tissue, so...

                            i know, just joking.

by the way, "snapping hip" is not from any synovial fluid in joints. This is the the definition of what "snapping hip syndrom" is.

The iliotibial band is a thick, wide tendon over the outside of the hip joint. The most common cause of snapping hip syndrome is when the Iliotibial band (or "IT band") snaps over the greater trochanter (the bony prominence over the outside of the hip joint).

When I feel the hip "clicking" its on the outside of the hip. This clicking dosent seem to be comming from within the hip. More like the outside. Sounds to me like its the illotibial band snapping over the greater trochanter.

Yea, I think this got side tracked with popping versus clicking. But my post still mean the same for you :D
