BASES WERE LOADED IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 9TH, W/ A ROOKIE PITCHER PITCHING TO CARLOS BELTRAN.

Let's give some credit to the outstanding pitching by Suppan and Wainwright, here. The Mets couldn't produce on their runs with one of the best hitters in baseball. Don't lose sight of the obvious.

Now, instead of saying I hate Detroit; I won't. The Cards have their work cut out for them. Verlander is a freaking machine on the mound. I think it will be a great series. It's going to go at least 6, maybe 7 games. True, the pitching for the Tigers has had a lot of time to rest. However, that can also cool some bats at the same time. In addition, Pujols' performance in the playoffs has definitely left something to be desired. I think he will be busting out for this series.
