    Tuesday Nite:

TOLEDO ROCKETS @ NORTHERN ILLINOIS HUSKIES >>>> UNDER 53.5
    Toledo (3-6, 1-4 MAC) at N. Illinois (5-4, 3-2 MAC) @ 7:30 PM. EST. * ESPN2

FACTS & STATS: Site: Huskie Stadium (28,000) -- DeKalb, Illinois. Television: ESPN2. Home Record: Toledo 3-1, NIU 3-1. Away Record: Toledo 0-5, NIU 2-3. Neutral Record: Toledo 0-0, NIU 0-0. Conference Record: Toledo 1-4, NIU 3-2. Series Record: Toledo leads, 26-7.

GAME NOTES: In a Mid-American Conference clash, the Northern Illinois Huskies play host to the Toledo Rockets on Tuesday night at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb. The Rockets had been mired in a four-game losing streak before snapping out it with a 35-20 victory over Akron on October 28th. Toledo has struggled all year and the main reason has been the team's play on the road where it is currently 0-5. Fortunately, Toledo will finish the season with two home games against Ball State and Bowling Green. As for the Huskies, they have lost two of their last three games, including a tough 24-14 setback to Big Ten foe Iowa on October 28th. Since the beginning of the 2003 season, the Huskies have been extremely difficult to beat on their home field, going 18-3 at Huskie Stadium. NIU is just 3-2 in league action this year, but since the start of the 1997 season the team has had success against conference opponents, posting a solid 44-31 ledger. The Rockets have dominated the all-time series against the Huskies, winning 26 of the 33 previous meetings. Toledo has won the last five games played in DeKalb, however, last season the Huskies were able to snap an 11-game losing skid against Toledo with a 35-17 win at the Glass Bowl.

    • TOL are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 conference games.
    • TOL are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games on Turf.
    • Under is 9-4 in TOL last 13 road games.

    • NOILL are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall.

    Thursday nite:

LOUISVILLE CARDINALS -6 -110 @ RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS
    (3) Louisville (8-0, 3-0 Big East) at (15) Rutgers (8-0, 3-0 Big East) * ESPN

GAME NOTES: Two of the five remaining undefeated teams in the nation hook up in a key Big East Conference showdown from this Thursday, as the third-ranked Louisville Cardinals come calling on the 15th-ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights. For the second straight Thursday, the Cardinals will be playing in one of the biggest games in school history. What helped make this game so important was a 44-34 win over then third-ranked and previously undefeated West Virginia a week ago. The win was one of the most important in Louisville football history, as the Cardinals now sit at the No. 3 spot in the BCS rankings. Louisville, which is off to its first 8-0 start since 1925, is also tied with Rutgers for first place in the Big East standings at 3-0. The Cardinals have never faced back-to- back ranked opponents and are gunning for their first-ever 9-0 start to a campaign. As for Rutgers, it also boasts an 8-0 record, marking its first eight-win season since 1979. The team was last in action on October 29th when it defeated Connecticut, 24-13. With the win, the Knights remained undefeated at home (4-0) and in the process improved to 8-2 at Rutgers Stadium since 2005. Rutgers, which has been ranked for a school-record seven straight weeks, has never faced a ranked foe before while also being ranked. The Knights own a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series with Louisville, although the Cardinals lone win came last season, 56-5, at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

This is a huge game for both clubs, as the winner will have the inside track not only to a BCS bowl but perhaps to the national championship game. It should be a good one, as the Cardinals' high-powered offense will meet the Knights' stingy defense. When all is said and done, Louisville should be the one to come out on top, as it has the size and talent advantage over a Rutgers team that is on the rise, but not on the same level with the truly elite teams in the country.
