  • Fuck New Jersey and fuck the turnpike! My thanksgiving clusterfuck..

I was supposed to meet up with my family down in south jersey for thanksgiving. My grand mom had made reservations at some restraunt for 2pm. We left around 11:30am and everything was fine for about 10 minutes and then we hit the turnpike and come to a complete STOP! It took us an hour to go about 7 miles! After about an hour and a half we knew that we were not going to make the reservation at 2. Had to call my grand mom and tell her that we wouldn't be able to make it. If we had kept going, we probably wouldn't have gotten there till about 4pm. Then we would have had to worry about comming back tonight because we left the dogs at home.

Anyway, we turned around and it took about 45 min to get back home. Sana ran out to the store that was about to close 5 min after she got there. She was able to get a 5-6 lb chicken for us to cook along with some cranberry sauce, stuffing and macoroni and cheese, and some sweet potato pie. We will have a good meal and I can watch football so I guess it isn't all bad but man does that fucking turnpike piss me off. Fucking New Jersey...

Thats why the 'simple life' of 'simple minded' people that you left in Carolina is held dear to so many people. I grew up 'country' but have lived 'city' for the last 10 years or so. Unfortunately in most cases, the farther from the cities you go the lower the income. So I'll take advantage of it until I'm truly ready to settle down and then its back to the 'country' lifestyle. There is a lot to be said to a slower and less chaotic way of life. I swear I lose hours out of my life everyday just from the insane spike in my blood pressure from dealing w/the daily commute.

With all that said...welcome home to dirt jersey

Agree completely. I grew up in the cities and moved to a small town to get my life straight a few years ago. Now things are together and it's time to move to the a city, to take the next steps. I would only be able to go so far here (which isn't much further).
