A friend of mine found this in her driveway in Daytona today. Pretty fat 4 1/2 ft Diamondback Rattlesnake. A Sheriff just got bit by one this weekend too. These are pre-death pics...

What did your friend do with it? -
She had just pulled up w/her 4yr old son in the car so she killed it w/a 2x4 before she left him out of the car. It's funny, she has another pic of her holding it by the tail...she's only 5'2'' so it almost touches her toes.Comment

Ick - I killed about 5 or 6 baby rattlesnakes in my backyard over the course of this past summer - I couldn't tell exactly what kind they were but I think they were Eastern Diamondbacks - my dog would bark like crazy until I came outside every damn time and sure enough - another baby snake - every time I would be working in the yard I kept thinking about the mommy attacking me :eek:...
Another time I was driving a tractor from one piece of land I hunted on to another to clear off some fields for the owners etc and a good sized joker was lying in the road - jumped at me when the front wheels passed by and the rear wheel sucked it under - definitely not a fan of the things....

Damn, I'm kind of torn on that one...I love me some bass fishin, but that snake story sounds pretty intense...kind of makes my skin crawl thinking about it. I hate poisonous snakes.Comment
