    Cell Phone Question

    I was thinking about getting my g/f a new cell phone for xmas. She uses US Cellular as a carrier. She lives in KS and it works the best for her. Cingular would be good, but at the time, there wasn't a tower close. She is locked in her service agreement for another year. I know she really wants one of the motorolla razor phones and I'd like to get it for her. I called US Cellular and outright the price of the phone is 399.95$ I could swing that, but man is there a way to get it any cheaper?????? That's for the latest and greatest model. The lady on the phone said that if I bought one unlocked that they could try to set it up, but no gauranteess. Anyone have any suggestions?

      You can try Ebay for a US Cellular RAZR or you can try Ebay for an unlocked version - it *should* work. As far as the latest and greatest - uh not really. With other carriers you can get that phone free...

      How many months are left on her contract? It could be cheaper to drop down to the lowest plan (some will do a $19.99) and get a new contract - OR - pay the early termination fee. I would NOT pay $400 for THAT phone....

        that price sucks ass. with sana's company i get cingular premier account. i can get the razr without upgrading my plan or extending a contract for $75.00. I can get the Slvr for $99 without a contract or extension also.

              I bought a new razor off of ebay setup for US Cellular for 197.00 shipped to me. It comes with a few accesories other than the standard things so I didn't feel too bad about the price. An unlocked one was more in the 150$ range, but I know this one will work. She'll like it, so I guess that's all that matters. Thanks!
