      *- But

Unfortunately he didn't have any real competition this year. With A. Pederson getting hurt and Quinn only playing acceptable, it was a no brainer. It really shadows how great of a year he had when there was no one else to talk about at the same level. Each week it just sounded like another normal week for Smith since he wasn't really battling anyone.

Quinn = best QB drafted in the 2007 draft!

I know Smith is a double threat, but I think as far as passing goes Quinn will be better.

And yes- Smith didn't have any real competition this year, as Brady's best QB year was actually last year.

Troy Smith looks like last years Vince Young, he should have a good pro career.

I never liked Brady Quinn, but after watching his segment on the Heisman show, I gained a lot of respect for him. I believe he graduated in 3.5 years and is taking an entrance exam for law school. You could also tell that he is a sincere guy. Those things you don't pickup just watching a football game.

On a side note, you also can't tell what a douche bag Charlie Weiss is until you see his piece on 60 minutes. I'll bite my toungue before I really say some negative stuff.

At the beginning of the season, ND had the 3rd most difficult schedule in the nation. Quinn was the leader of that team and all of the players have his respect as well. ND always puts out such respectable athletes with the utmost integrity....let alone a top notch education. He is a sincere guy, he's not a showboat, and he's not boastful.

As for Charlie Weiss, I wouldn't go so far as to say he's a douche bag, but the same could be said for Lou Holtz or Bobby Knight for that matter. Weiss is about winning.

Probably the worst part about coaching at ND is the fact you can't have a lot of losses. The town doesn't stand for it, and the alumni don't either. Perfect examples of this are: Bob Davie & Tyrone Willingham...So, needless to say, it's a tough job for anyone to take on. If Weiss has to be a D Bag to win, and keep his job, it is what it is. The players responded, and they had a great season...just gotta get through USC & Michigan next year.

I'm really anxious to see Casey Klaussen next year though. :)
