Good food is everywhere in Paris - depends on where the OP is going. My favorites are roadside cafes in Montparnasse - they are all over the place. Take the Metro to Denfert Rochereau and walk around the neighborhoods around there. Great crepes and other stuff. Also, there is a great ice cream shop in Ile de la Cite - you can hop off the Metro in Cite or Saint Michel Notre Dame, I think. Another thing that is fun (but kinda expensive) is sitting in a cafe on the Champs Elysses and just looking at the people go by. I also knew of some good places in Montmartre but I can't recall the names right now. But all in all, my favorite neighborhood in Paris has got to be Montparnasse.

Get a good Paris guidebook (I got the one from Moon Publications) and you'll be all set. Paris is a great city - enjoy the trip.
