If you don't want to receive pre-qualified credit card or insurance offers in the mail you can 'opt out' via the url below. I came across it in this months Consumer Reports.

is that safe... :) before I put in my info I hope its not a fishing scheme....but I need to stop my junk mail badly. I get like 3 a day. is there I a way I can stop my bills to and have them paid by someone else
