Discontent over DirecTV deal

The news that Major League Baseball is on the verge of announcing an exclusive Extra Innings deal with DirecTV generated a ton of angry e-mail here. Here are some of the more measured responses (some are shortened):
I live in Georgia but I'm a lifelong Dodger fan. I was 10 in 1988 when Kirk Gibson won Game 1 of the World Series. That is my earliest baseball memory and I have followed the Dodgers since. I bought my first home after college five years ago and I have subscribed to MLB Extra Innings every year to watch the Dodger games. Now I'll only be able to catch them when they play the Braves, just six times this season. I know that MLB will suggest the solution is MLB.TV (which I have also subscribed to each season). But you cannot watch those games on your TV, a major drawback for me. Nothing compares to hearing Vin Scully's voice and seeing the bright blue L.A. sky on my TV each night. I really wish MLB would make it easier, not harder for fans to enjoy their product.
