Dressing Etiquette question

Question for some of the suave guys out there.

Got a date Friday night, been a while since I've been out with someone new. Been with the same girl for 5 years.

I have a nice button up collared shirt that I'll probably wear with a wife beater underneath. A nice pair of jeans with it instead of slacks. BUT the question is, should the collared shirt be tucked in or not?

Simple rule to remember.....if it is vertically striped, yes. If its solid, no.

A squared off bottom okay to hang out. Tuck everything else in - a general rule. Of course some let all shirts hang, i would say it depends on where you will be going, casual, does not matter to much.

Youre going out casually, youre wearing jeans, unless it has one of those long backs, leave it out.

One thing to think about also, is if you put it on and it just doesn't feel right, then change. It doesn't matter what you wear, if you don't feel confident in it, it will show. If you feel like getting a new shirt, wear pretty much everything you are wearing for the date, try the shirt on and get the opinion of the female workers who looks like the type of woman you would care to impress.

Thanks for the advice. I tried it on last night and can't decide. The wife beater isn't going to work. Between my traps and back, it makes the front ride up higher than I like. The collar won't button because my kneck is so big. Oh well, I've got some other nice shirts I can wear. It fit good in the fall. :-)
