I just think he completely under estimated him cuz of his big ego. He thought he was fkn invincible and he got called on it. He's a professional fighter and to say he just didn't know what was going on is pathetic. He's a world class competitor w/o a doubt and he now knows that he has/had holes in his game and will approach things a lot differently. All of Militech's champions have been dethroned so that should be a wake up call. His training is second to none imo, but just cuz you are the best trained does not mean your unbeatable. I'm glad they all lost cuz now they will all re-evaluate themselves and come back more focused and hungry. In turn increasing the competition. And that's what it's all about.

That's what I meant about not knowing what was going on. He went in there like he bad shit thinking silva was a bum, but once silva starting bringing it to him, franklin was screwed. I think miletich is going downhill. I think they're too focused on the training they've been doing, but these new guys are coming out with the better game. GSP is like the new breed of fighter, good in almost every aspect of the game. Hughes impresed none. If he fights like that again, gsp will own him.

        I can agree w/that.

The problem is, he fought like that BEFORE and GSP did own him.

Therein lies the problem with all the previous champions and some of the current ones, they didn't change to the game. The game got different and they didn't adapt to it. They haven't improved or brought anything new. Guys like shammy and gracie didn't adapt to the new hybrids of mma fighters coming out. Now days everyone seems to be good at many different styles. Guys like hughes seem to be stuck on doing what they've been doing all along and not changing their game plan and adapting to the new competition. Hughes needs to change something cause he's lost his ass to gsp, almost lost his ass to penn, he's just getting by now it seems.

And the is why Randy Couture a 43 year old man, w/a 12in reach, 6in height, and 40lb weight disadvantage completely dominated Tim Sylvia. He adapted to a style of fighting not 'natural' to him.

That's what I love about randy. Never comes off as an ass. He's taken all his losses as fuel for improvement. All those losses in the hw division and the knockouts from chuck has him making improvements. His striking was really good this time too. He's not just a wrestler and a clincher anymore.
