The Zodiac (2005) / Zodiac (2007)

So these movies are about the same thing. The only difference seems to be that in the 2005 making of the movie, a cop is hunting the zodiac and in the 2007 making; A writer/some smart guy is tracking the zodiac. I don't get why they are making another one only 2 years later. Anyone seen the first one?
