  • Controlling Your Appetite???

Figured I would post this here to get as many views/responses as possible....

WTF does everyone do to control hunger pangs? I'm very strict with my current contest diet and my meals are all 2 or 2.5 hours apart with 8oz meat, 35 carbs and little to no fat BUT it doesn't matter how often I'm eating I feel like gnawing my arm off!!!!!!

I'm drinking over two gallons of water a day - several cups of coffee in the mornings and chewing sugarfree gum like it is my job etc - someone please HELLLLPPPPPPPPP!!!!

I feel your pain brother. I'm only 2 weeks into the dieting and I'm already hungry. Sucks when you go from bulking right into cutting. I'm thinking maybe I should do it more gradual next time. I thought I was going to pass out a couple times the first week until my body started adjusting. I’d also like to hear what others do to fight the cravings.

Nothing, not when you are so close to a show like you are. Thrive on the hunger. Use it as and advantage. Go to some place while someone is eating a burger and fries and sit there with your dry chicken and look them right in the eye. lol

I just don't recall it being like this for my last show - I know it sucked but I don't remember wanting to eat my tongue :P

I know how you feel bro. Right now only carbs I get are two cups of rice with my first two meals of the day so I am always hungry or craving for something so when I get those cravings like that I eat a nickel size of peanut butter or a few pieces of cashews, it definitelly helps.
Are you eating 35 grams of carbs with every meal? if you are eating that this close to the show, I think you are taking to many carbs. 35x6=210 grams of carbs and that is 840 calories a day from carbs. This is only a suggestion and I know it's gonna sound crazy but, seems like you are taking to many carbs and not enough good fat. I would take out last two of your carb meals and add 1/4 of a tbl spoon of peanut butter with or between your five meals and have 1/4 of an avacado with your last one. Yes amount of food is lot less but since fat has more calories then carbs you are not droping your calorie intake, you are only adding healty fats(looks like your diet is lacking some) and stopping the nasty cravings.
Let me know what you think please. :)

I'm honestly not worried about my diet at this point - I'm just hungry...

And that's why you change certain things. So you can diet without going trough nasty hunger cravings. Give it a shot bro I swear it'll work wonders.

I don't doubt what you're saying bro but with me being two weeks out I'm not altering what I have planned just to keep from "feeling" hungry...

If I don't "look" the way I want to based off of my diet then I will change things for show #2 and #3 with time to adapt but not for the sake of hunger - I wrote this diet based off of my past diet experiences etc and if I change things now I'll never know if it was the right plan....

I know the question asked what others propose I do so it isn't that I don't appreciate your advice - I always try to listen to everyone and learn from others - it's just that I'm not going to sacrifice my plan to combat hunger - I hope that makes sense......

Now maybe if someone said drink green tea or throw in some red pepper in your meals or something along those lines I might be able to take that and run with it - just not comfortable adjusting caloric proportions at this point....

Cool man - I didn't want you to think I was being a dick - I plan just about everything I do out way ahead of time and changing that wouldn't allow me to know what I did wrong...

However - to add to part of what you were saying - I'm 350p/210c/50f 4 days a week and 420p/40c/65f the other three days (carb cycle) with fats coming from almond butter, meats and fish oils - I will carb deplete days 9-4 out from the show and carb load with 600g of carbs from sweet potatoes 3-1 days out from showtime (along with sodium loading/cutting/dehydration/diuretics etc)....

drink water all of the time this will help trick your body. a lot of times ppl think they are hungry but its thirst.

if that doesnt work beat the fuck outta someone :)
