Seemed to me he walked INTO the ring like he had already been defeated - being calm and collected is one thing but he looked like he just knew it wasn't his night...
He looks like that every fight. As Randy said 'very stoic.'
Fuck yeah baby!!! I hate Cro Cop. After all the kicks he's dealt to opponents heads while they've been on the mat, I don't feel sorry for him at all. That was perfect! Nobody wants to see anybody get hurt, even Cro Cop, but it was incredibly satisfying to see him get tagged like that.
Talk about luck at it's finest. One of the things I hate the most about MMA. Sometimes skill just doesn't matter and you just get lucky. Makes for these really boring championship matchups later.

lol...did you even see the fight or just the highlight head?
I still don't understand why so many people always claim 'all luck' when someone pulls an upset or gets an unexpected victory. Everyone is so quick to discredit the fighter. Sure there is an element of luck, but it's not what gets you to this level of fighting. How is it luck that a 250lb man can lift his leg and swing it faster than another man can realize that it's not a low body shot but high head kick?

I saw the fight alright. I mean shit, it was free. It was a well timed shot and he was lucky cro cop dropped his hands. How the fight would have went after that, i'm not sure, but I doubt gonzaga would have been able to take anymore kicks. He caught the first one, but it fucked it him up. We'll see how he does but i'm not quick to jump on the band wagon and praise him as a good fighter yet.

I'm certainly not jumping on any bandwagons but I like to give credit where it's due as opposed to attributing it all to luck. The fact is he domainated Mirko the entire round and then finished it with a well placed kick. Maybe as a practitioner I look at things a bit different. I just don't see it as luck when a fighter out performs another. Now maybe if he was getting his ass kicked the entire round and then ko's Mirko I would say ''wow, he got lucky and saved his ass w/that one." Most people do the same as you and NYCM25, they find alternate reasons for victory...it was fixed, it was luck, they were sick, injured, etc...

I've been watching mma for a long time and I am a practitioner myself. But i've seen way too often fights where someone takes a guy out, but then comes back later for other fights or for a rematch and looks like shit. I do agree that he was doing better than mirko. He got him to the ground but did nothing. I don't mirko ever being in any real danger that whole time. Not talking about you here, but i'm seeing from a bunch of guys I know that are just slobbering over the nuts of guys like serra because they pulled off the upset. I like to wait after a couple more fights to see if it really was luck or if they really are a fighter of the caliber. I think tim sylvia is a great example.
Yea, I am wondering who's the underdog in this one.
It's obviously going to be Rampage because he is the one challenging the title, but I'm real curious to see what the actual odds will be. I can't see them being 4 to 1 like Cro Cop.
