This is just a warning to all the ladies to be VERY VERY careful while out at clubs. I never really realized how often girls are slipped the date rape drug, until it was slipped to my sister last week..... My sister was at the bar named "my apartment" in downtown Toronto. A guy offered to buy her a drink, she accepted, but went with him to the bar, to make sure he wasn't going to put anything in it....... Well she must have turned around to talk to her friend for a second or something, because he definitely put the date rape drug in her drink. About 15 mins after drinking her drink, she felt weird, and told her friend her vision was getting very blurry.... Her friend went to the bar and got her a glass of water, which she couldn't even drink without spilling it all over herself...... Luckily she was with two smart friends who knew that it wasn't just the alcohol, and took her home immediately.... She vomitted all night and felt like crap for a day or two, and woke up with no memory of the night before... Luckily the guys never got to take her anywhere..... But she was VERY lucky!!

So to all the ladies, please take this seriously, and be careful!!

And if there is any guys reading this, that like to give this drug to girls.... You are scum, and if I ever catch someone putting this in a girls drink... IT'S ON!

I've been to that bar several times. Sorry to hear about that...it always came across as a really casual and friendly place...the last place you'd expect something like that to happen.

To further the warning, watching your drink get poured is no guarantee either...as sometimes the bartender is in on the scam. There was a news report once about a bartender who had a few 'special' glasses under the bar that were pre-laced with the drug. If a guy wants to buy you a drink, order a cooler...as it's hard to tamper with bottles.

Yeah... Thanks I should have mentioned about the bartender also.... I suspect he may have been in on it....

I really wish my sister could point the guy out who bought her the drink.... but she doesn't remember......

She didn't expect that from that bar either..... it's a more mature crowd......

Yes... GHB = date rape drug = rohypnol (SP?) Correct me if I am wrong.... I believed these to all be the same thing......

And yes it is deadly when consumed with alcohol....
My sister phone a medical hotline the next day and they confirmed that it was that drug, and told her how to handle it.

And I hope I find a way of finding the bastard too!! I'm definitely going to be dropping by that bar, just to give myself a slight chance that I might find him..... I realize I probably won't... Oh but if I do.........
