Sounds like you did a great job bro. You have to be a little easier on yourself. This is only your second year of competing. You will only getting bigger, leaner, and harder over time. Celebrate you winnings and go out and stuff your face!! You deserve it.

The way I see it youre 99% there and shouldnt get so down about it. If that final drying out is your only problem then you probably just need to tweak that a bit and find out what you respond well too. You do an awesome job and if you placed first every time you wouldnt be competing.

Yep, being way to critical on yourself....that's how you know when you're a bodybuilder bro. You hear the comments "you look great" and all the rest of it and then you think you look like shit and harp on what you could've and should've done differently. You did awesome bro, 2nd isn't 1st but it's pretty damn close and it's much better than a lot of other guys who have also busted their ass. You have a lot to be proud of and once you get out of this post competition rut you will look back and be proud of yourself. Of course you can do better and you will. I think you may want to get someone else to help you with your diet. Maybe ask around and see if they're are any good dietitions in your area that help out bodybuilding competitors, I think this would be your best bet. Someone who does this for a living and over time will understand your body and get you to where you want to be. Your dedication and strict diet isn't the problem, I think it's the diet itself is the problem and a great dietition could help you out a lot.

Took 2nd in LH's and of course the guy who won took the Overall as well - wtf - two shows in a row....

EVERYONE said it could have gone either way but once again I wasn't "dry" enough - finally got close to being as lean/cut as I wanted (and had the best symetry again etc etc) but I just can NOT dry out like I want to......

Weighed in at 199 Friday and went to a nearby sauna and fried myself until I came in at 198.2 (just under 198.25) - no worries until I found I could have easily taken the fucking heavy class and spent the day today drying out some more hoping for a shot to take out the LH guy (as they didn't compare us again in that class tonight)....

All in all - I AM TIRED - I am tired of taking second and I am tired of not looking the way I want to look - I'm tired of dieting and I'm tired of ProTan (I could claw my arm off right now) - I'm tired of not going out with friends or being mad at people around me 24/7 etc - I'm tired of posting "wish me luck" threads and then not being able to hold up my end of the deal for y'all....

In other words I'm gonna take an entire season off (two calendar years) and see if I can't figure out wtf I'm doing wrong - I know it takes time but damn if I can't get dry like some of these guys - my diet is solid and I'm strict as hell with myself - I never waver from my plan - I guess my plan's just messed up beyond repair at this point - gonna head to the beach tomorrow and take next weekend to do the same - then it's my birthday and I'm going skydiving etc so maybe in a few weeks I will have my mind straight again and I can focus on fixing my shit - I've already got my diet/cycles planned out for the next 20 months so hopefully I can stay focused - just really really wanted to qualify for a National show this season - guess my 5 year plan has now become a 6 year plan

Anyways - thanks for all of the help/support everyone and I'm sorry I just bitched up a storm but I needed it so thanks for listening - peace out :hang:....
i have to ask you dude, if you don't enjoy what you are doing, why do it? i don't think i have ever heard you say a positive thing after one of your shows.

as for what you may be doing wrong, i think even though you diet strict, the type of diet you run is not working with your body. you need to change it up. its all about experimentation. the negative attitude is not doing anything for you..

I made a typo. I was just saying that his negative attitude is his defining attitude. Unfortunately.

ah ok. i am not putting him down or anything. just saying that it seems like he is always unhappy with what he is doing. fog, you need to remember bro, this is a hobby. it may be our life but the bottom line is, we do this because we choose to do it. in the scheme of things, do you really have it that bad? cheer up dude, enjoy life.

oh no way...I know that, neither am I. It takes damn strict dedication, discipline, and sacrifice to compete, but if it makes you 'truly' miserable from beginning to end...what's the point? He has a lot to be proud of...period.

Wow - sorry to have apparently mislead everyone so much - I wasn't intending to imply I didn't love competing etc - I thrive on this sport - sometimes it's the only thing that keeps me going from one moment to the next - just a little "tired" Saturday night and sick of coming in second best...

As for my "negative" attitude I must admit it's quite a gift to sustain such an incredible defense mechanism - I expect NOTHING but the best from myself and NOTHING from those around me - at least this way I'm always striving to be better/the best and I'm never let down in the least from others and learn to depend solely on myself - no worries there right ;)....

Spent the last two days recovering and have been mulling over my plans to reach the goals I already set for myself despite falling down on my plan this year - no need to get behind......

Trying to remember that between the 3 shows I did there were over 25 people who dieted just as long and just as hard but still lost to ME - gotta keep that in mind these next two years....

LMAO - weighed 223 on an empty stomach this morning - I'm sure it will go down as soon as my water intake goes back up and I shed some of this water weight :D...
