I don't think you understand how they do it here in california. You violate probation, you go jail, and usually for more than 45 days. Each jurisdiction varies depending on how the DA feels as far as pursuing charges. In my county, you do anything, and the DA here will crucify you. Just because they are on a no tolerance basis. So as far as her getting bad treatment, bullshit. I know people who've gotten worse just for their first offence. I didn't see her have to pay a bunch of fines and have to go to drunk drivers school every week.
i think what you are missing bro is, when someone gets a 45 day sentence on paper and in court they usually only do about 10% of that or less. so that would come out to around 5 days or less for a 45 day sentence. this is especially true in Cali because of the over crowding problem.
