  • Can someone explain the science behind this.

What is it that makes you have one of those days where you wake up slow, have a shit workout and so on. I do the same thing day in and day out. Meals are the same, workout the same time, etc.. My workout was shit today. Their has to be an explanation. Do hormones every once in awhile get thrown out of wack? I know people say, "everyone has a bad day sometimes", I would just like to know what it is that makes the bad day. How can you have a killer workout one day and shit workout the next when all variables are the same?

It's all about hormones. Everything in your body is controlled by what hormones your brain decides to have released. That's why people abuse drugs so that they can decide what hormone they want in there body. You want to be up, take cocaine so that your brain releases more norephinephrine, you want to feel euphoric then take ecstasy so your brain releases more seratonin, etc, etc. But they do say that lethargy is a common sign of bad liver.

Ok so explain why the brain releases different hormones from day to day when all variables are the same.

Variables are the same on the outside, but not inside your body. Just the same as your endogenous test and estrogen levels are concerned, your brain also senses how much seratonin or dopamine or whatever you have in your body. One day you could have a high level, so your brain senses this and doesn't release anymore, causing you to feel like poop once your levels wear off. Especially about seratonin, it's toxic to the body, so your brain doesn't want to release too much. That's why ecstasy users take the precursor. I'm sure growth hormone and test levels play a part in mood as well.

I had one of those days today B. I woke up and ate my normal breakfast but felt sluggish as shit. I just wanted to go back to bed and I had 8 hours of sleep. Hormones fluctuations do play a big role. Do you go to bed and wake up at the same time every night? Do you always get 8 hours? Sometimes if your sleep cycle changes frequently, your energy levels can be different from day to day.

i think it has something to do with the quality of sleep u get the night before. u may go to bed at the same time and think u get the same amount of sleep, but if u sleep weird or have a small cold or sinus infection, or sleep in a way that blocks your air passageways, then u will wake up hundreds of times throughout the night and not even know it. u should read about sleep apnea, i had a sleep test done and i had it, it makes a world of difference now when i sleep with a cpap machine or even use a breathe right strip.

As tool said, the quality of sleep is very important - and sometimes you can not judge that on your own. Your endocrine system is a VERY complex thing - when you throw in "foreign" chemicals on top of it, things can get wacky.

Try changing your routine, not just in the gym but at home also for a couple of days.

yep, and bodybuilders are more prone because they have larger necks and that can cut off airflow at night as well. i think the bouncer should go have a sleep test done and let us know the results, then encourage more in this community to do it. In serious cases, sleep apnea can kill.
