yep. this is why i am always talking about the current "knowledge" that we think we have. seems to me the 70's, 80's and early 90's guys looked better then the bloated garbage on stage today. GH and slin has been an absolute tragedy to bodybuilding.

:bravonew:
Like I said in another post I have so many freinds that take GH none stop and to me they all look worse than they used to. I think it has its place at a certain juncture for people and I have used it to my advantage but people are taking it to excess.
I'm not sure we actually understand it yet (how to use it best) although everyone thinks they do. Perhaps we are just at an experimental point in bodybuilding but I don't see the guys on stage these days and feel inspired to look like them even though I admire they're effort

ya, just wait a few years. pro card means they will turn to shit. They all looked better when they turned pro. Ronnie included.
No joke. Even when Ronnie won his first Mr. Olympia he looked awesome.
Why do you think it's changed? Do you think that if the guys in Arnold's day had the same knowledge, they would have done the same thing? I don't know. I wonder what has changed mentally.

Hard to answer bro. I think increased dosages, increased calories, GH, slin, judging, etc has all played a part. I also think that sometimes "science" can be wrong when it comes to bodybuilding. The science that we know today says that the guys of the 70's were severely over training. I think that science is flawed. I also think that GH and slin used for to long can actually cause muscle break down and increased gut growth. Take a look at Craig Titus, King Kamali, Greg Kovacs, and the list go on. Over time, their muscle such as arms, legs, etc.. got smaller and flatter, and the their gut grow. When those guts first hit the scene they all looked damn good.

Yeah, Greg Kovacs was a freakin monster. And strong as hell. People used to value hard work and they used to understand when enough was enough. I just wonder where the common sense has gone.
I think it all started with dorian. The size of his back wowed people. So guys like coleman started to think about how much more potent freaky size would be than symmetry. And ever since then, it's been about who is the biggest mass monster.
