  • Alternative excercise - gardening

I know this sounds lame but I've been clearing my garden this week including cutting down trees, pulling them out at the root; cutting with bow saw, hand axe, branch scissors etc.

Some of the trees I had to dig a moat like 1 1/2 ft deep around them to get at the roots with a hand axe and then do like a push pull routine to rip them out, one roots and stump was so heavy I couldn't lift it when ripped out.

I've really enjoyed it though, the trick is not to try rush and get everything done at once but to do it a bit at a time, rest a while then go at it again.

Maybe I sound like your grandad I don't know but I haven't felt this pleasantly tired in ages. :agree:

yep, used to do it every summer as a teenager. We had contracts with many of the HUD properties in Jersey. weed whacking at 5am in a jersey ghetto in 80% humidity.. ahhh nothing like it.

I was in Houston for a couple of days last month visiting family and the air felt like it was a liquid going in and out of my lungs. I was glad to be back on the plane heading back to the PNW and 0% humidity... lol...

I don't know how you guys live down there in that soup....
