I was in Ukraine and Estonia for about a month when I was young and I was able to pick the language very fast. It may be easier for me to learn Russian since I speak Polish and those languages are somewhat similar in the spoken form.
With the German language....after those three years of studying I came to the US and I stopped using it.....I regret it that I didn't practice it. English took over. I guess in the States it is a good thing :)
