I find this to be true sometimes as well. I generally only play a game when I just purchased it, then the system sits unused for like 2 months or so until I want to play the game again or until I find a new game I want. I do get pissed too when I'm playing and not succeeding, but that is true for almost anything. I'm not really a fan of failure, but I don't stay angry long. Its only a game. That being said, my interest in them is mostly for distraction and I don't really use them that often...but its worth the money IMO, because when I want to play they are there. Reading that it kind of sounds stupid, but emotions are rarely rational.

Well what are they in it for, to have a good time? The goal of every company is to make money bro. I realize they don't make much on the consoles but I was under the impression that they make a great deal of profit on the games that usually sell at $60 a pop.Originally posted by NewbieChrisBesides Microsoft isn't in the console system market for profit.

That's true as far as sports games are concerned, but other games from manufacturers like capcom, namco, etc, XBOX doesn't seem to be able to sway much of them. XBOX seems to be riding on Halo and it's multiplayer community. I see microsoft as the same as sega was back in the day. Always trying to beat out nintendo, but just barely keeping afloat. Now blockbuster is going to change to all blu-ray and no more HD-DVD, that's just another low blow to microsoft. Either or, both companies are losing money.Originally posted by NewbieChrisDude, every sports game you can get on PS3 you can get on Xbox. Sony no longer has the market hold over games that they used to, especially for the PS3. Besides Microsoft isn't in the console system market for profit. In fact if you look at the historical revenue, or lack there of, for both Xbox systems you will notice that Microsoft almost always looses money with it. That doesn't mean that the system isn't great and that Microsoft will back out of it because they want to prove they can take on almost any market and gain success, not profit nesc. Its a great system and it won't die anytime soon thanks to its exclusive deal with Bungie for the Halo series, which, in essence is keeping the system alive.

You can get a blu-ray add on for xbox 360 and netflix offers hd-dvds, so Sony is still screwed.Originally posted by beefcakeThat's true as far as sports games are concerned, but other games from manufacturers like capcom, namco, etc, XBOX doesn't seem to be able to sway much of them. Of course you can get a blu-ray on the 360 elite. That's just called microsoft knowing it's losing to sony as far as the dvd format. Bottom line still remains, microsoft is barely floating.Originally posted by babybluesYou can get a blu-ray add on for xbox 360 and netflix offers hd-dvds, so Sony is still screwed.

no shit? i had no idea about that. so does it also have a HD-DVD player like a dual format or no? that is a pretty big blow to HD-DVD. the regular 360 had the HD-DVD add on. i guess Microsoft is now going with the blu-ray camp?Originally posted by beefcakeThe 360 Elite comes with the blu-ray. Which honestly, is a damn good idea from a multimedia standpoint.

I think you're right bro. I remember that initially I saw a link that said the elite had the blu-ray on it. Seems it didn't happen. I found a link that said microsoft said they wouldn't do that, but if they lose the dvd war, then they will look into making an add on.Originally posted by THE BOUNCERcan someone post a link that talks about the blu-ray player on the elite. i can find nothing about this.

Pretty much. That's what I get for reading a rumor and then not following up on it. Originally when they first announced the elite on ign.com, it said it would have the blu-ray. I can't afford either nor have time to play them, so I haven't been researching to get my facts straight. LOLOriginally posted by THE BOUNCERin other words, you and babyblues don't know shit. :D

Do you have a PS3?

No, but I plan to get one because I have a ton of old ps1 and ps2 games and I need a blu-ray player. Plus i'm more into the adventure and fighting games like resident evil, metal gear and tekken. I work two jobs, so forking out $500 so that I can play ps3 for an hour or two twice a week just doesn't seem worth it.Originally posted by FitnessBratDo you have a PS3?
