  • FINALLY- someone is taking action

It broke my heart to read through this whole article. The things that were done to these animals just sickens me. They never asked for this life. Man's best friend treated as a wild animal, a savage.

But on the bright side, I can't be happier that authorities have finally made a case.

I would love to see someone of his celebrity status convicted and sentenced to the full extent like an average joe would, but we all know that won't happen.

I would love for it to happen as well. You never know though,...I'm sure the ASPCA will get involved, and they will push for him to get the full penalty imposed by law. This isn't as important as terrorism, or WMD; but it is contributing to the deterioration of values in this country. Who knows- maybe he will get a ball busting judge & jury. At least he's been indicted...that's HUGE. A person of his status will have this on his record forever. He's going to court- it's not like a sexual harassment case or something that can be settled.

I'm really interested to see what the NFL's response to this will be. Some game suspensions, or complete ban from the league would be fine with me. Because guess what- had he not had this celebrity status, and all of the money and fame that go with it- my guess would be this ring he had on his property wouldn't have been near as big as it was; if it would've existed at all. So, as the NFL, they have to assign not so much blame, but a contributor. Because in an indirect way, they contributed to his ability to engage in such a disgusting and inhumane sport.

The average joe would have never gotten FED charges especially on a first offense, with no prior criminal.Im sure Vick will be OK.Im sure he can afford a lawyer, and the guys testifying against him have long criminal records,Itll be another he said she said acquital.

You still think the animals are well taken care of? Or that my statement about them dying/being put to death is bogus?

As far al NFL punishment goes, if it goes to trial (which could go either way) that could take up to a year with all the BS lawyer tactics. That being said, I think he'll play this season for sure with no punishment. I think the NFL will wait until a verdict is reached or an aqcuital before levying a punishment. They are not going to step out there with out proof. Plus, this is a first time offense and from the previous few NFL conduct cases, they appear to be going after the repeat offenders.

Hopefully, the lawyers won't be able to wiggle him out of this and he'll have to own up to being a punk ass thug! Why the fuck would someone pulling in $130 million get into dog fighting? Blows my mind! You'd figure that kind of wealth could buy you some class......

I heard the news story,There were dogs found on his property.I thinbk vicks lawyers will ask for autopsys on the dogs and blow the feds mind as i heard they already desposed of the carcusses. The alleged hanging, electrocution, the funniest one picking up the dogs and throwing them to the ground till it kills them.Sounds a little far fetched, but when you got a witness who is facing life in prison the storys get better. He may have killed some dogs,I dont know.If any of these outrageous storys about the way he killed them are proven true, then he deserves what he gets.Until then he is completely innocent

Man, I have an American Bulldog and am good friends with various people throughout the bulldog world. Many bulldogs are used in sport, to hunt, bitework, schutzhund, etc. I train my dog and take him to shows where they do weight pulls and hang times.....I don't have a problem at all using a dog for working purposes, but fighting is not sport work. These bully breed dogs have natural aggression and drive in their blood, but that doesn't mean they should be harnessed to use it against another dog. My dog naturally wants to chase and catch other animals, but good dog owners work their dog in a positive manor.

I'm not completely sure what your comment about being from AL ment, but I took it as since I am from AL I should be fine with dog fighting. Yes, dog fighting is prevalent in the south. It is prevalent because it is a poor man activity. Poor southerns fight dogs as a means of income, because they either too stupid to get a job or too lazy. I don't condone that shit 1 bit.

The one objection I have to this whole scandal is the so called "fighting equipment". Me and people I know use some of these things to train with to get our dogs in the best shape possible. I have a spring pole and have ran my dog on a treadmill, but to tie that in general to dog fighting is ridiculous. Spring poles built head and neck strength that help with bitework, weight pull, and hang time comps. It is also great exercise for bully breed dogs that need to burn a lot of energy to stay out of trouble. Many treadmills are used to get dogs in shape for weight pulls and the show ring. The media spins that in a bad light, that I do not agree with.

Don't be so sure about this. Keep in mind this is a FEDERAL indictment. A FEDERAL grand jury chose to indict Vick. A federal grand jury may not have indicted him, but the average joe would've been punished to the full extent of the law....It just wouldn't be as publicized as this. This isn't some podunk sheriff trying to make a name for himself. Regardless, dogs were found on his property; along with dog fighting equipment....and of course the witnesses. Talk about a smoking gun...

But, let's go with your theory for a second. Let's say they are making an example of him because he is a celebrity. Better yet, they are making an example of him because he is supposed to be a ROLE MODEL. Why is such a rich man competing in such a poor man's sport?
