The ave joe would have been tried by state law and givin a suspended sentence probably a fine and probation.Ive seen guys a LOT bigger than him, in the dog world,Get tried state law.How do you guys think Vet roids started circulating?Dog fighters and Vets who condoned it.A lot of vets who understand the breed do condone it.The killing of dogs is unheard of in the main stream circuit. If he did it,and in the manner the charges state.to hell with him.

For the federal government to prosecute someone that is well known like he is, it produces an example that gets seen and heard around the country. You can't really accomplish that by going after joe blow. No one will really hear about it or really care. But a celebrity, now everyone can see the severity of these kinds of actions. Too fucking bad for him, that's the price you pay for making the salary you get. Just like cops, you're in the limelight of the public, you're held to a higher standard. You can't go out and get drunk and fuck hookers like everyone else can otherwise society will be unforgiving.

I am a dog lover and also a Falcon's fan. I was tired of Vick as a football player 2 seasons ago, and I am now done with him as a human being. He will end up paying a fine and being done with it. I am done with him and I will not watch a Falcon's game or attend one until he is off the field, but that is also because I think he is horrible at football.

I live in Atlanta btw...short side store here...one day the radio was taking calls about dumb things people had witnessed...this one electrician or ac guy calls in and said he had to do some work at Vicks house in Atlanta..and he said that one of the outlets was turned horizontal, so dumb Vick turned the mini fridge he had plugged into it horizontal also....dunno if made up or not, but damn funny and I believe it is true.

These bully breed dogs have natural aggression and drive in their blood, but that doesn't mean they should be harnessed to use it against another dog. My dog naturally wants to chase and catch other animals, but good dog owners work their dog in a positive manor.

I'm not completely sure what your comment about being from AL ment, but I took it as since I am from AL I should be fine with dog fighting. Yes, dog fighting is prevalent in the south. It is prevalent because it is a poor man activity. Poor southerns fight dogs as a means of income, because they either too stupid to get a job or too lazy. I don't condone that shit 1 bit.

The one objection I have to this whole scandal is the so called "fighting equipment". Me and people I know use some of these things to train with to get our dogs in the best shape possible. I have a spring pole and have ran my dog on a treadmill, but to tie that in general to dog fighting is ridiculous. Spring poles built head and neck strength that help with bitework, weight pull, and hang time comps. It is also great exercise for bully breed dogs that need to burn a lot of energy to stay out of trouble. Many treadmills are used to get dogs in shape for weight pulls and the show ring. The media spins that in a bad light, that I do not agree with.

You can't look at it like that. You have to realize they are trying to build a case. They didn't say that anyone owning a treadmill or springpole commits animal cruelty. They're gathering evidence to prove it wasn't just a random occurance that happened on Vicks property - it was a "facility" complete with all the equipment to run a dog-fighting ring.

Oh, I know FB, but just like the Benoit steroid deal, the media makes people who don't know better believe what they want them to. I know those things help build the feds case, but the media focuses in on things that are questionable instead of going after the things that are solid. The media sucks in general, that was my point:)

              Update...

So it looks as though Vick will be arraigned on the same day, and almost the same time as the Falcon's first practice of the year. Aww... poor thing. At which time he will obviously plead Not Guilty (he insists he spent very little time at the property, and had no idea this was going on). Trial will then be 60-75 days after that, but I'm sure we will have all kinds of pre-trail motions to invoke further delay. He will also have the option to have a bench trial (2 judges decide if he is guilty), or he can choose to have a jury trial....which would you choose? I'm on the fence. In some respects I think he has a better shot of an acquittal with a jury trial, but then he may get the maximum from a jury as well.

45% of people polled on ESPN think Vick should be released, and another 45% think they should wait for the verdict. What's funny is, this trial will be smack dab in the middle of his season. And there is very little chance the Falcons will let their QB go to court say, Tues- Fri., and then come back to practice with the team for a Sunday game. It's impossible for the team to have any continuity. It's not the same as how Kobe did that during his thing....And of course, Kobe's case wasn't a federal case. Regardless, this season for Vick is totally fucked.

not really RS vics laywers can put this case off for years if he wanted to. he wont even have to show up to the first court date. unless the NFL pushes for him to get this over with???? if not we might not hear about this for a year or so.

I think they're starting to do a better job (Tank) and are realizing the delinquents are giving them a bad rep.

Kobe didn't rape that girl. That girl was looking for a huge payday.

Everyone is going to say Vick is innocent until proven guilty. That's called the justice system. Vick may not be required to be at his arraignment...but I don't know how he can avoid it- he has to enter his plea himself. AS for the bells,...I doubt it.

KILLING these dogs in such an inhumane manor is EQUAL to some human offenses. I would even venture to say it's equal to rape. It's the exact same principal. You have power over another being.

This isn't about throwing paint on a fur coat. This is about stopping a savage practice and reversing the fact that this type of behavior has become accepted. It really has to do with the law no longer turning a blind eye.

Having a civil debate about this issue is how the entire discussion has gone thus far. Why does it have to come to personal attacks?

I vaguely remember that incident. I was working in Atlanta that month and in downtown Buckhead the same night. There was no proof that Lewis stabbed anyone. The only thing that they could prove was that he was there and he left in a hurry after the incident.

You're comparing apples and oranges. That shit didn't happen at Lewis' house. It happened in a dark night club amongst the chaos of drunk people. There is a big difference when the illegal activity is taking place at your residence.

As a woman, I'm surprised to hear you say that. I totally disagree.

I'm saying it's the same PRINCIPLE. And I did preface my comment by saying "I would venture to say"...I'm simply trying to get my point across that it is a very serious and heinous act. Rape and animal abuse are totally different. So allow me to rephrase- I would say animal abuse and child abuse is "ALMOST" the same.
